Common mistakes when asking what time it was
Midnight wrap, mixing 12-hour and 24-hour clocks, confusing 24 hours with yesterday morning, and sharing offset links as if they were timestamps.

Dropping the date
Writing “7:40” without a date is how incidents get reconstructed on the wrong day. Always keep the weekday or the ISO date. This site prints both under the big clock for that reason.
AM/PM mixups
The calculator here uses a 24-hour clock to avoid 7:00 vs 19:00 errors. If you still think in 12-hour time, convert once at the end, not in the middle of the subtraction.
Treating a shared /3-hours-ago link as a fact
The path records the question, not the answer. The next reader gets a new now. If you need a fact, write 2026-04-02 15:10 UTC+08:00 in the ticket and optionally add the calculator link as context.
Using 30-day months as civil months
The difference calculator’s “months” row is a 30-day estimate. Do not use it for payroll or rent. Use named calendar dates for those.
